Daniel's Art Investment

Cuenca has lots of arts and crafts for sale on the street.

A lot of it is made by hippies and other young people.

It is not uncommon to see a hippie carrying a large spool of wire over his/her shoulder, meaning they are the vendor of wire art of (to me) dubious value.

That's why we were pleased to run into this elderly gentleman selling painted sticks representing humans and snakes.

Daniel bought one of the human figures.

Oddly, the figure seems to be having a problem keeping his wiener in his pants.

Daniel says, "I noticed the wiener, but it was not the reason I bought the piece; I chose it for its artistic value and because it would fit in my backpack." Daniel's art investment came to $2 (probably a 100% markup for foreigners), and it included a photo with the artist.
