More Then and Now

Here is a detail from a painting we saw in the Museum of Antioquia from 1859 of what was then called the Plaza Principal, the main plaza in the center of Medellin.


Now it is called the Plaza Berrio, and the Metro goes right through it. There is a Metro stop right at the Plaza where I took this picture from. The church, called the Basilica de la Candelaria, built around 1770 is about all that has not changed.
