Taffy Town

What do Baños and Seaside, Oregon, have in common?

I already gave it away.

Except here you can watch it being made by hand in about a dozen identical sidewalk establishments (click on these pictures to get a good look).
Because this is the Easter holiday and Baños is filling up with tourists, all the taffy pullers are going after it.

This is really hard work. The taffy pullers pull and pull to get the right consistency. Sometimes it takes two pullers to get the job done. Then they roll it into little sticks and wrap it up to sell to the tourists. It´s easy to get free samples. I don´t care for it (way too sweet), but it is fun to watch it being made.
