This is what our neighborhood looks like in Medellin.
Quite a contrast from Salento.
By the way, Colombians pronounce the the double-l like a j. So they pronounce Medellin like "me-de-jean" (soft j).
Our hostal, called The Palm Tree, is on a quiet side street about four blocks from here. Our room faces the street but there is no traffic at night.
We can walk 30 minutes and be in the center of the city or take the Metro and be there in two stops.
It's a good location.
Our room is nice and big (Daniel gets the bunk) with a shared bath for about $25 a night.
