Llamas at Ingapirca

There is a nice herd of llamas that they let roam the grounds of Ingapirca.

This is appropriate, because llamas were domesticated by the indigenous peoples of the Andes and used as pack animals and for their fur. I imagine they were used for food as well.

Daniel says we will see llama on the menu when we get to Peru.

These are the first llamas I have encountered on the trip.

I couldn't resist a close-up of the baby.
