A Pleasant Sendero

There was a hiking trail (sendero) that began at the Ingapirca ruins and wandered by some farm land and a trout farm and looped around back to the ruins.

It was advertised as an hour long hike that was "medium difficult" which gave me some pause (remember, I am heading for my seventh decade and we are at 10,500 ft.), but I decided to try it.

We soon came upon a fabulous field of fava beans which I also grow a little patch of in my backyard. Nothing like this.

Later on the trail we encountered this old farmer who called out to us to make sure we noticed the "Inca face" in the rock.

It cost me one "dolarito" (his term) to take his picture.

Here's the face (you'll have to click to see it).

All and all it turned out to be not all that difficult.

Just a very pleasant morning ramble.
