Finca Las Brisas (Part 1)

Our hostal put us on to Finca Las Brisas, a working coffee farm that gives tours for about $3.

And that includes a cup of coffee.

To get there you have to cross a bridge out of Salento and walk up a dirt road for about 2 miles through beautiful countryside.

We have heard throughout our trip that Columbia is a beautiful country, and it really is.

Like Western Oregon, the rain keeps everything green.
We ran into another traveler from the US, Patrick, on the way.

He was good company.

He took this picture of Daniel and me.

  1. I agree, small towns are the best and you did right by skipping Cali. Check out Santa Fe de Antoquia if you can but it's hot there. The mighty Cauca River is right near by.

  2. I am trying to avoid hot, Al. We just heard some really scary things about Bogota from an Oregonian who now lives in Salento (I will blog about him soon). So we may be looking for a smaller place near Bogota to stay before catching our flight home on May 15. Any suggestions?
