After walking a long way down into a salt mine and then all the way back up, you work up a pretty good appetite.
Our tren turistico had arranged for all of us to bus to the neighboring town of Cajica to have our mid-day meal at a big place that caters to large groups of tourists.
The train somehow got turned around and met us there for the return trip to Bogota.
Besides our group from the train there were lots of families taking their mothers and grandmothers out for a celebratory meal.
This being one of our last meals in Colombia, Daniel and I did not hold back. He ordered a traditional bandeja plate (above) and I got a parrillada plate of mixed grilled meats, made famous in Argentina, but very popular here too.
Delicious! We may be craving food like this in a few weeks back in Oregon.
Both platos look muy rico, pero: they don't beat that tamal you had a few days back!!! Still salivating over that one!
