Friday Night in the Bar

Salento has bars that cater to the Columbian tourists who come here, particularly on the weekends.

Then it has bars like El Danubio, that cater to the locals.

Daniel and I had a beer in the Danubio and were watching a soccer game on TV along with a few others when someone decided to change the channel to a baseball game.

Darn.
We were getting into the soccer game, even though we had no idea who was playing who.

So we switched to pool and played two out of three. Daniel won 2-1 but I gave it a good effort for someone who hasn't played pool in years.

We noticed that most of the locals in the Danubio were not drinking beer, they were drinking coffee.

It was served out of this big contraption, made in Turin, Italy, so it must have made decent coffee.

  1. Your discoveries are fantastic, the photos overall are really nice. Just wish you'd flesh out the text a bit more. Maybe even add a bit more reflection??? Details!

the photos on this post and the one covering Brunch are not loading, the others seem ok...you may want to check them...

on the homefront, we are making an interesting variant on Thai Kao Soi which will utilize spaghetti squash instead of rice noodles and mussels instead of chicken. If it works, we'll make it when you return...yummy. No popcorn allowed!

  2. OK Sambamaster. I'll see what I can do. Usually I am writing this blog early in the morning before Daniel wakes up and then we are going all day. Too little time to reflect. We have a lot a ground to cover.

The photos on this post load for me. ??
