Steam Train to the Salt Cathedral (Part 4)

This was our third train ride of the trip.

It was very different from the two trips we took in Ecuador which tended to be more about the scenery and the history and the culture of the communities at the end of the line.

They were more serious and more well organized.

This trip was just plain fun.

The scenery wasn't that much to write home about, though we did get to see the gritty back alleys of Bogota from the safety of the train, as well as the upscale north side of Bogota with its endless condo developments.

The steam locomotive and the antique cars were a real attraction to this trip, but mostly it was the music and the Bogotanos having a great time all day that made it so enjoyable.

We didn't make it back to the station until after 6 at night, so it turned out to be an all day trip. Everyone applauded as we pulled into the station.

It was a wonderful day. One of the best on the trip.
