Train to Salinas (Part 3)

The train to Salinas passes through six tunnels that were dug by hand.

The construction of this rail line began in the 1920s and was not completed until the 1950s.
We had a very capable guide, Jamie, who spoke good English.

We learned a lot from him on the trip.

He is at the front of the car with the microphone in this picture of our car in a tunnel.

Our car was a refurbished old passenger rail car from England.
